The life lessons one can learn from Mahabharata

0
The life lessons one can learn from Mahabharata are-
  • Never be satisfied with any amount of education you recieve always yearn for more then you can be Arjuna, Arjuna did not stop learning after he completed his education under Drona and later learnt other art of warfare and celestial weapons from God's like Yama, Indra, Krishna, Shiva after pleasing them. He also learnt mace fighting from Agnivesha, Arjuna had multiple teachers who helped him to be the greatest fighter of his time.
  • Always love your family and take care of them like the mighty Bhimasena, Bhima loved his family more than anything else. He saved his brothers and mother from the louse of lac, he carried them away to safety and also fought the man eating rakshasa Hidimba and killed him with his bare hands in such a way the sleep of his family wouldn't be disturbed. Bhima loved Draupadi and for her he killed yakshas and wrestlers like kichaka. He was also willing to be a slave to Duryodhana just for the welfare of his family.
  • Always be around with a good company or else you'll end up like Duryodhana, Duryodhana was always seen with the likes of Karna, Shakuni and Dushasana who were the most crooked and adharmic individuals, under their false advices and braggings Duryodhana lost his everything, Duryodhana was also to be blamed as well.
  • Never be arrogant of your prowess or you'll learn a lesson of humility like Bhimasena, the mighty Bhima the strongest man of his time proud of his strength that was equal to ten of thousands of elephants took a mere vanara lightly and as a result couldn't even lift the tail. It was then Bhima realised that the individual was not an ordinary vanara and it turned out to be his brother the mighty Hanuman the destroyer of Lanka. Always remember there will be someone stronger than you.
  • Never be ignorant of the warning of others or you might end up in destruction like the lake incident where inorder to drink water the Pandavas would've to answer questions from a yaksha. The four Pandavas ignored the warnings of the yaksha and drank the water and as a result fell down dead one after the other, it was then the eldest Pandava Yudhistira who after successfully answering the questions and pleasing the yaksha who was actually his father dharma restored the lives of his brothers.
  • Do not be jealous of the abilities of your enemy or younger brother then you'll end up like karna, Karna was always jealous of his arch rival Arjuna who was actually his younger brother, Arjuna was years younger than Karna. It was Karna who was envious of Arjuna and wished to kill him whilst deciding to spare the lives of his other four Pandavas, this is why that Karna was defeated by Arjuna numerous times and also ended up being killed by him.
  • Do not stake your wife in a gambling or she'll lose her respect and dignity just like when Yudhistira staked Draupadi after he lost his everything due to his desire to obtain the kingdom of Hastinapura, after he lost he had to lose his soldiers, dresses, Jewellery, slaves and even his brothers. Yudhistira thought Draupadi as her property and thus staked her and lost her too as a result Draupadi was humiliated and the Pandavas were helpless.
  • Always have mercy over your enemies just like Draupadi saved his abductor Jayadratha from death by Pandavas and also spared Ashwathama the killer of his sons at the hands of his husbands. In return, however the famed gem in Ashwathama's head was taken by the Pandavas. It was Draupadi's kind heart that Ashwathama was saved. Draupadi was not at all responsible for the war as fake TV serials show.
  • Always have respect towards your elders just like Yudhistira walked up to Bhishma beside the start of the war to take his blessings, similarly the other Pandavas too respected their elders. Yudhistira used to respect the great sages of the past and learned the meaning of dharma from them. Yudhistira was called as dharmraj by the elders only.
  • Surrender your everything to the Lord and learn from him forgetting your own greatness and be humble just like when Arjuna surrendered himself completely to Krishna and learnt the lesson of Gita from the Lord. Arjuna himself was a part of Krishna/ Vishnu. Krishna was God whereas Arjuna was his best friend/ devote. Krishna motivated Arjuna to fight against his relatives who were on the side of adharma.
  • Never take a vow that would be cause of the destruction of your dynasty which was the vow of Bhishma to remain a celibate forever and allow the sons of Satyavati to take over the throne, this is why the throne of Hastinapura did not have a worthy king instead it had the throne reserved for people who did not deserve it, and such kings made stupid decisions that ended their dynasty. It was the fault of Dhritarashtra's love for his son as a result of Bhishma's vow that destroyed half the race of the Kurus.
  • Never disrespect your mothers Karna the son of Kunti never had any respect for her mother and even was a key conspirator in the murder attempt of her mother along with her other sons. Karna never could understand he circumstances as to why Kunti had to abandon him at birth, Kunti also pleaded the Gods to protect her son. He did not not even respect his foster mother Radha who took care of him as her own child, He did not protest against Duryodhana's disrespect to his mother Radha. Still Karna wasn't rude to Kunti in their meeting as Yudhistira was after he found out Kunti hid the truth of Karna and then Yudhistira unjustifiably cursed his mother and the women clan.
  • Never lie to your teachers Karna lied about his identity to Parshurama just to gain the knowledge of using the Brahmastra, upon knowing the truth Parshurama in a fit of rage cursed Karna that he would forget the mantas needed for Brahmastra at the prime time when he needed it the most, however Karna did use the Brahmastra twice against Arjuna in Mahabharata.. perhaps he forget it in the end when he was on the ground trying to lift his chariot, however Karna wasn't unarmed he had his weapons. It was the brahmanas curse whose cow Karna had killed which caused the chariot to sink down.
  • Never be greedy and selfish it leads to destruction As it was in the case of Duryodhana who not only refused to give back the kingdom of Indraprastha back to the Pandavas after their 12 years of exile and 1 year of living in icgnito ended, he also refused to give small villages to the pandas and as a result lost everything including his relatives, brothers, sons and grandfather's. Indraprastha was a rightful property of the Pandavas that Duryodhana didn't want to give back, even Hastinapura as a whole was the property of the Pandavas as Yudhistira was the eldest.
  • Never rely on incomplete knowledge As it was in the case of Abhimanyu who had the knowledge of breaking into the chakravyuha but not the knowledge of coming out. Only Krishna, Arjuna and Pradyumna had the complete knowledge of this vyuha. But it should be known that it was due to the sacrifice of Abhimanyu that Yudhistira was not captured by Drona as Arjuna was busy fighting the demon maharathas known as Samsaptakas.
